News > GBCM 2009 Graduation Ceremony GBCM 2009 Graduation Ceremony Globe Business College Munich’s 2009 graduation ceremony, held in the auditorium of Griffith College Dublin, brought together more than 200 graduates, faculty and guests to honour the 2009 graduates. Distinguished speakers included Griffith College President Diarmuid Hegarty and Mr. George Hook, who received the Award for Professional Excellence for his outstanding contributions to the Irish media industry. In a gripping speech which included many memorable anecdotes from his own illustrious career, Mr. Hook encouraged graduates to build their careers on the foundation of self-confidence and preparedness. The international cooperation between GBCM and Griffith College was highlighted in the speeches of President Hegarty, who enthusiastically commended the partnership and Dr Susan Walsh, Dean of Globe College, who outlined the benefits of students in Germany undertaking an Irish degree. The ceremony was followed by a lively cocktail reception and dinner at Dublin’s renowned Dylan Hotel, which was attended by graduates, their families, friends and guests, along with the GBCM faculty. The remainder of the weekend in Dublin consisted of industrial visits to the Irish National Police Headquarters and the Jameson Distillery as well as further social events.
