Globe Business College Munich and AidConnect Announce the Winners of the 2008/2009 Business Ethics Scholarship
Munich, May 2009
GBCM scholarship winners, Eimer Peters and Marta Sanchez with memberships of the scholarship committee, Ms Shari Temple, Managing Director of Aidmatrix Europe and Eva Kösters, Accenture Consultancy.
Globe Business College Munich and Aidconnect are pleased to announce the winners of their 2008/2009 Business Ethics Scholarship. Marta Sanchez, a second year Globe Business College student from Spain, was awarded the scholarship for her work on control mechanisms for development aid projects. Eimer Peters, a second year GBCM student from Ireland, received a partial scholarship for her essay which focused on Western companies extracting resources from the third world.
"Throughout the process I learned a lot, not just in terms of the third world and aid projects but also in relation to how to apply theories and concepts learned in college to the real world. I am delighted to have won the scholarship, but to be honest, the real benefit for me was in conducting the research and writing the essay" said Ms Sanchez on receiving the award.
Business Ethics – Making students more aware
The Globe Business College is a private college located in the centre of Munich offering business programmes taught exclusively in English.
Donna Barron, Director of Student Affairs at GBCM, says that the scholarship is primarily meant to encourage students to confront ethical issues in the context of doing business. “The most sustainable impact of this scholarship programme is to raise the students’ awareness of ethical issues in the business arena. We got lots of positive feedback and were glad to see the passion our students brought to their essays.” Through the collaboration with AidConnect and Aidmatrix GBCM students can apply what they learn in class to actual humanitarian aid projects worldwide.
AidConnect – Linking people who want to help
