A
Winning Bachelor Scholarship Essay Spring 2008

Bachelor Scholarship

n MBA scholarship will be awarded yearly by the GBCM Scholarship Committee in association with AidConnect (more scholarships may be awarded in the event that the submission essays are of a very high quality).

AidConnect is an initiative focused on the worldwide linking of people who are involved in or would like to support humanitarian projects (see www.aidconnect.org). This interactive communication platform offers charitable organizations and individuals the opportunity to promote their projects to a diverse audience. Likewise, it provides donors with information on both current and potential projects with a view to matching those in need with supporters who are in a position to assist.

The Masters programme at GBCM (which is run in association with the Swiss Business School in Zurich) is designed to meet the needs of professionals seeking to expand their managerial knowledge and develop sound leadership skills. The MBA prepares professionals for upper level management positions through the facilitation of an understanding of the skills necessary to manage the broad functions of business organizations.

The amount awarded will be equivalent to one quarter’s tuition and winning essays will be published on the GBCM and AidConnect websites.

Eligibility and Conditions

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Either potential students (who have already been accepted onto the programme but have not started courses) or students currently studying on the programme are eligible to apply.
  • Scholarship candidates must complete a 3,500-4,000 word essay on a humanitarianrelated topic as determined by AidConnect in conjunction with the Scholarship Committee. Essays outside of the above word count will be disqualified.
  • The scholarship recipient may be required to base some of his/her assignments throughout the MBA programme on an ethics-related topic.
  • Scholarship applications/essays must be submitted together with the MBA application.
  • All work must be the original work of the scholarship applicant.
