 idConnect
is an interactive communication and information platform that links
people who want to get involved in humanitarian projects on a
worldwise basis.
The organisation
provides a
platform for individuals or groups to promote their projects to a
diverse audience (as well as exchanging experiences and providing
information on the precise nature of the support they need). Anyone who
is interested in offering support can then access this information with
a view to finding appropriate projects to assist.
One of the key objectives of
the organisation is to encourage and facilitate direct communication
exchanges among individuals with a view to improving project start up
and development (through a mutual learning processes). In addition, the
aim is to motivate people to go beyond donating and establish personal
contacts and partnerships, so that the initial engagement grows into a
lasting commitment.
Presently, GBCM supports
AidConnect through the
GBCM/AidConnect Scholarship (the aim of which is to encourage students
to think about humanitarian issues and possible solutions). The
intention is to strengthen this collaboration over time to include
further areas of support. |
