This is a flexible academic programme that gives an international perspective, combining two years at Globe College in Munich with the third and final year of the degree outside of Germany. Students who successfully complete the first two years in Munich are awarded a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies. This qualification is the equivalent to 120 ECTS points and as such allows students to progress to the last year of Bachelor studies at universities around the world who accept the qualification (see link under progression section for details of third level institutions who accept the HND for advanced entry into third year on business programmes).
This programme is suitable for students who are looking for a very practically orientated third level education that is international in nature and taught completely in English. It is also ideal for students who would like to study business but do not have the required entry requirements for traditional university programmes in Germany or Europe. Over the two years students study 16 subjects in key business areas such as Marketing, Management, Organisational Behaviour, Ethics, Professional and Personal Development, Decision Making, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Law and Operations Management.
- Students who apply for this programme must have a recognised high school leaving certificate, for example a High School Diploma, IBCP or Realschulabschluss (Mittlere Reife).
- Evidence of English language abilities must be provided (either through a recognised test or at one of our interactive workshops).
- All students who apply for this programme are required to undertake a Golden Ticket Weekend assessment or equivalent interactive workshop (please contact for more information).
The Higher National Diploma in Business Studies programme is a BTEC Edexcel qualification that is accredited by Pearson. Pearson is the UK's largest awarding body and is regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA Accreditation (Scotland), CCEA Accreditation (Northern Ireland) and Qualifications Wales (Wales). They offer academic and vocational qualifications that are globally recognised and benchmarked, with educational excellence rooted in names like Edexcel, BTEC, EDI and LCCI. Their vocational qualifications include Edexcel NVQ and BTEC from entry level to Higher National Diplomas. BTECs are recognised in more than 70 countries worldwide, and in 2013/2014, 2.58 million learners registered for BTECs and other vocational qualifications, including 640,000 school registrations for BTEC Firsts and Nationals. The HND is on the national qualifications framework in England as being equivalent to students having completed two years of a Bachelor degree.
The fees for the Business Bachelor Top-Up degree programme are 8,000 Euros per term (there are two terms per year over the two years). Semesters run from September to January, and February to May. A one-off application fee of 380 Euros is also applicable.
